Who are we?
Halo-Halo Productions started with a group of friends who wanted to create things together. We started with making podcasts because they were simple, fun, and a great way to meet other creatives. And slowly but surely we continued to grow, now making experimental short films and music videos.
We are an experimental group of artists who believe that art is better made together than alone.
What is Halo Halo?
Halo-halo is a dessert from the Philippines that translates to “mix-mix” because the dish is a mix of many different ingredients. The core ingredients of halo-halo, however, are ice, milk, and sugar, anything else is up to you!
The best part about halo-halo is that every person has their own “timpla” or blend of ingredients. Some prefer jellies, while others may want more milk.

Flavor of the Month
"Flavor of the Month" is a monthly podcast where members of Halo Halo Productions select their favorite short film of the month and interview the minds behind the film.
From their inspirations to their struggles to what makes them filmmakers, we take a deep dive into what it takes to be an indie filmmaker.
February 2024 Flavor: Hail Marie (2021)
This month we are featuring Harley Maranan’s 2021 short film , “Haile Marie,” a 10-minute dramedy about a respectful young man who is forced to confront his family's rigid traditions as he seeks the approval of the family matriarch, his formidable 80-year-old Grandmother. The film features Myrasol Martinez as Ella, Curtis Lum as Curtis, Lillian Lim as Grandma Lily and Ricky He as Ryan. We talk about the filmmaking process for making a film, and the challenges of turning a personal story into a script.
